How to Use Coffee Makers:
Bialetti aluminium and stainless steel stovetop coffee makers operate on a pressure-based system.
Before your first use, unscrew the top from the base.
Remove the funnel, filter plate, and ring seal from the base and wash all parts in warm water. Reassemble the top section correctly.
Fill the base with water, ensuring it's just below the safety valve level. Overfilling can lead to a bitter or burnt taste in your coffee.
Insert the funnel.
Loosely fill the funnel with your favourite espresso ground coffee; do not tamp it down. Remove any coffee grounds on the funnel's edge.
Firmly screw the top section to the base, avoiding using the handle for leverage.
Place the coffee maker on low to medium heat, adjusting the flame on a gas stove to avoid it extending up the pot's sides.
Brewing takes only 3 - 6 minutes, depending on the pot's size and heat intensity. Remove from heat when the coffee pot is 85% full, avoiding boiling.
All Bialetti stovetop espresso makers are suitable for use on gas, electric, and ceramic hobs. Stainless steel models are additionally suitable for induction cooktops.
